Windows System Restore - There may be situations like you installed some program or changed any windows settings, and now your computer is acting slow or not responding like it was before. In this case it is always good to perform a windows system restore to bring back your computer to the original condition. Windows System Restore is a feature of Windows that allows you to restore your computer to a previous known working state in the event of a problem. System Restore takes a "snapshot" of critical system files and some program files and stores this information as restore points. You can use these restore points to return Windows XP to a previous state.

One of the best features of Windows XP, or Windows Vista is the System Restore option, however if a virus infects a computer with this operating system the virus may be accidentally backed up because of this feature. In order to completely remove a virus on these operating systems, you should disable System Restore before cleaning the system, then re enable it after the system is clean.
